WWE star Roman Reigns said his leukemia is in remission and he plans to return to the ring.

Reigns made the emotional announcement Monday night in front of an adoring live crowd at a WWE Raw event in Atlanta.

"It's amazing. I just knew in my head: This journey's not going to be complete until I get to step foot back in that ring and get to address my fans," Reigns said during an appearance on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday morning. "And they were so gentle with me and so gracious, and they sent so much love. I just wanted everybody to know."

Reigns, 33, whose real name is Leati Joseph Anoai, had stepped away from WWE in October to receive treatment after announcing that his leukemia -- he was first diagnosed when he was 22 -- had returned.

Reigns, one of the company's biggest attractions, saw his first in-ring action in months later Monday night when he teamed with Seth Rollins to make a save of longtime Shield stable-mate Dean Ambrose.
