No doubt, most of us start each morning with a piping hot cup of coffee; perhaps maybe a few.
But a doctor out of the UK says that drinking coffee is what's making your hair fall out!
Dr. Sara Kayat explains that while it's normal for people to lose 100 to 150 strands of hair a day, the ingredients in black tea and coffee put a strain on your iron levels, which also contributes to hair loss.
Dr. Kayat said per the New York Post, "Did you know the tannins in black tea can block the absorption of iron, which may increase the risk of iron deficiency and in turn result in hair loss?"
Coffee contains around 4.6% tannin, while tea has around 11.2% tannin.
Another contributor to hair loss is stress, and Dr. Kayat says that "how" you handle your stress levels can also impact hair loss and said if you don't seek to help them, it could mean you experience further hair loss down the line.
"I also recommend stress management techniques you can do at home including yoga, meditation, deep breathing, journaling and spending time outdoors," she says.
