The first day of spring is this Saturday March 20, which only means one thing in Texas: time to takee those Bluebonnet pictures! And lucky for us, experts are predicting that this year, North Texas will be having a "great bluebonnet spring."
Despite the major winter weather we received, a state botanist says that rain and moderate temperatures will lead to a bountiful amount of bluebonnets this year. Jason Singhurst, a botanist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), said, "Recent Texas flora Facebook posts, and photos from native plant enthusiasts, that I received during the winter storm included blooming bluebonnets covered in ice in central Texas."
