The missing Houston tiger that grabbed the country's attention last week has finally been recovered, and thankfully, appears to be unharmed.
Houston Police Commander Ron Borza said the tiger, named India, thankfully appears to be unharmed and in good health.
Borza identified Gia Cuevas and her husband, Victor Hugo Cuevas as the owners of the tiger. Victor Cuevas is currently under investigation for murder after a shooting incident in 2017. Cuevas is currently claiming self defense.
Borza also reiterated that owning a tiger in Houston is very illegal. He said, per CNN, "In no way shape or form should you have an animal like that in your household. That animal can get to 600 pounds. It still had his claws, and it could do a lot of damage if he decided to."
Cuevas was last seen with the tiger last Sunday the 9th, and was taken into custody last Friday after a Fort Bend County judge revoked his bond on the murder charge.
His wife Gia will not be facing any charges at this time.
