A couple in Alvin, Texas (twenty five miles southeast of Houston) decided to stay in and order dinner from DoorDash the other evening when the delivery of their meal became a bit.

Unfortunately for Josh Walters and his wife, their DoorDash driver was arrested before he could deliver them their meal.

Not to worry though, because a member of Alvin’s finest, the police officer who actually made the arrest, delivered the meal on behalf of the driver he apprehended.

When Walters heard his doorbell ring he checked the security camera, and when he saw the police officer he feared the worst.  However, in a now viral Facebook post, Walter wrote, “I swing open the door and the officer says, 'Good evening, did you order DoorDash? Well, your DoorDash driver's going to jail, but I wanted to get you your food.’”

Alvin Police Department Captain Todd Arendell downplayed the interaction, telling KHOU 11 it wasn't a big deal and that the officer was just doing his job.

"It was a nice thing to do," he said. "It's what people should do."

Meanwhile, Walter's order still shows the driver should be arriving soon, but we know that's definitely not happening.
