If the name Brandy Bottone sounds familiar, it's because she made national headlines a few weeks ago for bringing an important debate to light. She is the Plano woman who was issued a ticket for driving in the HOV lane while pregnant. The officer said there's no one in the car with her, Bottone insisted with the new regulations in place, her unborn child counted as a human.
Earlier this month, Bottone delivered a healthy baby girl. Monday, Dallas Morning News reported that she had received another citation for the exact same issue while she was still pregnant. In fact, it was the same officer who wrote the ticket.
Under the advice of her attorney, she was told not to mention the second ticket until the first one was resolved. The hearing was dismissed. A hearing for the second write-up has yet to be scheduled. More after the paywall.
