Though he was absent from the first season, Dustin Diamond was scheduled to appear in the second season of Peacock's reboot of Saved by the Bell. Unfortunately, Diamond passed away earlier this year, before he was able to film anything for the show.

Well, when the second season premieres November 24, the show will reportedly pay tribute to Diamond and his character Screech which according to showrunner Tracey Wigfield, will be "more than just putting a picture of him up at the end."

Wigfield also told People that Diamond's fellow original cast members, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Lark Voorhies, were also "keen to do something," and have even written scene where their characters reunite at their old favorite hangout spot, The Max, to pay tribute to Screech.

She said, "At the beginning of this season, we already were coming into writing Season 2 [where] obviously Dustin was one thing, but we also were like in a pandemic and in general in the first episode, everyone was feeling the same sense of everyone understands how heavy this last year has been."

Wigfield added that though Screech was often the butt of the joke among the gang, the tribute itself will be incredibly thoughtful and touching. "There was a real guy who had people who loved him. You don't want to make any jokes or talk about it in any way that might hurt anyone's feelings."

Season 2 of Saved by the Bell premieres November 24 on Peacock.
