When Ralph D, who lives at Brookedale Southpointe, was looking forward to his 100th birthday on June 18th, he didn’t want much in terms of gifts.
Really, all Ralph wanted was to get some cards, ideally 100 cards, as a way to celebrate each year of his life.
After posting a message to Facebook, Ralph got way more than he bargained for.
As of the start of this month, Ralph has so far received 1,209 cards from all around the world.
He’s gotten so many, that now the only states from which he hasn’t received a card are North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire and Vermont. But the way things are looking, no doubt Ralph will here from some people in those states soon.
One more note about this story: Ralph said in his original post that he planned to celebrate by going skydiving.
Well, due to some physical limitations, Ralph wasn’t able to make the jump work, but that’s no problem for him.
Ever since, he’s been hitting the gym and the weight room so that he can get in shape to make that jump.
