The Oconee County Coroner's Office released the following press release this morning:
19 year-old Greenville man died Monday night in the intensive care unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Angelo D. Hall, 19, of Greenville, was swimming with friends on Lake Keowee near Salem at Fall Creek Landing when he disappeared below the water surface. He was recovered by friends who would initiate CPR.
The first 911 call for assistance was received at 2:45 pm. Fire/Rescue and EMS were dispatched. Mr. Hall was provided life support with transport initially to the Oconee Memorial Hospital emergency department prior to his transfer to Greenville.
Mr. Hall died at 8:45 pm due to complications associated with freshwater drowning.
No autopsy will be conducted.
His manner of death is accidental.
