On Tuesday, local activist Tracy Fant joined Greenville County deputies, including Sheriff Johnny Mack Brown, at a press conference to shine a light on 11 unsolved murders that occurred over the last three years.
The names and faces of the 11 victims were displayed on a screen behind Fant as she called upon those with information to step forward.
“On behalf of many families, I stand before you now and ask if any of you knows anything, not only on these homicides but on the many others that exist, please come forward. So that we can help these families get the closure that they deserve, and the peace they deserve as well,” Fant said.
The names of the victims include:
Anthony Scott
Josias Hernandez
Shann Goldsmith
Antron Crawford
Makiya Hawkins
Timothy McClellan
Demetrius Smith
Marcus Griffin
Veronica Elliott
Eric Jones
Kendall Brown
Sheriff Brown commended the media in particular, saying that only by shining a light on these cases can they encourage people with information to come forward.
“In the past, you have been beneficial to us in solving some of these homicides, trying to spur people’s memories and getting them to make a call,” Brown said.
Anyone with information about these murders or any other homicides is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
