The Anderson County Coroner is now investigating after a baby died in the Pendleton area on Tuesday.
Deputies were called to a house on Kirk Lane around 4 am Tuesday morning after reports of an unresponsive three-month-old.
The infant was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead. Pendleton Police Chief Doyle Burdette did not go into detail on specifics regarding the death, instead referring all questions to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office in turn said that additional details would be released only when the investigation had concluded, although so far no evidence of foul play has been suggested by either law enforcement agency.
