North Carolina Pedestrian Struck by Truck, Dies
First responders rushed to a Walmart on East Dixie Drive in Asheboro, North Carolina, Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2026, following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Officers found 57-year-old Amy Jefferies Brewer trapped beneath a 2022 Rivian truck.
Asheboro firefighters freed Brewer, and crews prepared to airlift her to Randolph Health. Despite lifesaving efforts, she died in the parking lot.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and will consult with the district attorney’s office to determine whether any charges may be warranted.
