OCSO Makes Second Arrest

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office made a second arrest last Friday afternoon in a recent Assault and Battery by Mob investigation.

39 year old Brian Keith Roach of Stribling Shoals Road in Walhalla was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:24pm last Friday on one count of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree.

Back on May 5th, deputies began an investigation into an incident that occurred on Sweetbriar Trail near Westminster in which Roach and another man, 40 year old Terry Brandon Ramey, participated in an assault which caused a head injury to the victim. 

Ramey was also charged with one count of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree in the incident.  

Ramey was arrested and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:36pm on Wednesday, May 6th.

As a result of the investigation into the assault call on May 5th, deputies also charged Ramey with Theft of Electrical Current after deputies discovered a wire that was connected to a residence, even though power to the residence had been disconnected.  

The wire was disconnected by the utility company. 

Also on May 6th, Ramey was served an outstanding arrest warrant in regards to a separate investigation as well as four outstanding General Sessions Bench Warrants and one Family Court Bench Warrant. 

Roach was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on his own recognizance on last Friday.  

He was given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. 

At this time, Ramey remains in custody at the Detention Center on a combined $13,212.50 surety bond.
