
Sunday night around 9pm in Pelzer, South Carolina Highway Patrol was called out after reports an SUV hit a bridge then drove down the embankment.
News Outlets report the driver of a Chevy SUV was traveling east on Green Street when they drove left on the road and hit the bridge. The driver then went down the embankment and stopped near the railroad tracks below the bridge.
Highway Patrol reports the driver was taken to a local hospital. They were the sole occupant of the vehicle.
As of right now, the name of the driver has not been released.
Troopers have charged the driver with driving too fast for conditions, open container and an expired registration.
