Spartanburg Fatality
The Highway Patrol reports a moped rider has died a week after being struck by another vehicle in Spartanburg County.
The collision occurred last Monday night just after 9PM on US 176, 3 miles east of Spartanburg.
The victim was driving a moped when a Nissan driven by 39 year-old Demarcus K Smith of Wellford struck the moped from behind.
The victim, 65 year-old Rocky Steven Dantzler, was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries yesterday (Monday) afternoon.
Smith was not injured in the collision.
The Highway Patrol has charged him with driving too fast for conditions.
