A man is now in custody and charged for the armed robbery and attempted sexual assault of a woman on the Swamp Rabbit Trail that occured on the afternoon of November 25.
The incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. on November 25.
While running alone on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 49 year-old woman was attacked from behind by an unkown man.
The suspect pulled at her clothing and hit her head with a handgun then took her belongings and ran.
Officers conducting an investigation, viewing nearby video footage, interviewing witnesses, and increasing patrols in the area.
Police eventually found a man matching the description given by the victim, and officers searched his home.
In the search, officers found clothing and a firearm they believed may have been used during the robbery.
29 year-old Ronald Dean McKinney was arrested and is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center.
He is charged with Armed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct - First Degree and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
