The Laurens County Sheriff's Office says one woman is in custody after shooting a man inside the Walmart distribution center off of I-385 Sunday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the call just after 3:30PM regarding an altercation between a man and woman. A major law enforcement presence was called in due to the sheer size of the sprawling distribution center.
Authorities had to start in the center of the building and work their way out to confirm that there was indeed only one shooter.
Employees took cover once the shooting started. The woman moved to the front reception desk after the shooting and stayed there until authorities arrived.
The shooting victim was hospitalized for treatment, but does not appear to have life threatening injuries.
Both the shooter and the victim were employees of the distribution center.
The woman was identified as Deborah Anderson Morgan of Greenwood, and has been arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crimeand violation of a protective order. The name of the victim has not been released.
