It's back to the polls for some voters in Pickens County today, specifically in the recently created School District #7.
Healy, a business owner and Navy veteran, won that first race by just a slim 21 vote margin. Vander Linden is a retired educator and enjoys doing a lot of volunteer work in the community including weekly with Pickens County Meals on Wheels.
District 7 was created by the SC State Legislature so the county would have an odd number of school board members, avoiding any deadlocks in voting in the future. It is the eastern portion of Pickens County.
