A teenaged driver is facing felony charges after a fatal collision off Latimer Mill Road near Honea Path. Troopers said it happened just before 3AM Tuesday morning near Prospect Bridge Road.
17-year-old Savannah Hutchinson has been charged with felony driving under the influence involving death. Troopers said Hutchinson was driving a 2012 Kia sedan with two passengers, when she ran off the roadway, down an embankment and overturned. No one was wearing a seatbelt.
Dayton Gayle Sellers, 18 of Donalds, one of the passengers was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Hutchinson and the other passenger both suffered injuries and were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
