Tragedy struck in North Carolina Friday, as a 5 year old child was fatally shot by a sibling.
Police in the Vance County Town of Henderson responded to a home there, Friday morning. Henderson is about 40 miles northeast of Durham.
Upon arrival, officers found a 5 year old girl dead from a gunshot wound. WITN TV in Washington, North Carolina reports that the grandmother told them that the 5 year old was shot by her 3 year old brother.
The boy had apparently got a hold of an unsecured gun in the home and dischargd it, hitting and killing the little girl. There's been no arrests or further details released in the case as of the time of this report.
