
An accused school shooter will remain in custody at the Department of Juvenile Justice. The 12 year old suspect is charged with murder, after a school shooting in the Upstate He will remain at the DJJ facility in Columbia, as he's being tried as a juvenile for the time being.

Judge Jessica Savini says, the decision is for the suspect's own safety. He has not been identified due to being a minor. He is accused of the March 31st shooting that killed 12 year old, Jamari Jackson at Tanglewood Middle School in Greenville.
The defendant's attorney Ryan Beasley said during the hearing, that his client was bullied and beaten up by Jackson for refusing to join a gang. Beasley also said that his client was labeled a "snitch" for reporting what happened. The suspect has been in custody since the shooting took place.
