A mysterious letter may be the missing piece in solving a cold case murder in the Upstate, 4 decades later.
Earlier this week, we highlighted a cold murder case in Spartanburg County. In 1986, local motel owner Eugene Wright was shot while working at his motel. His wife later found him and Wright was taken to a hospital where he died days later.
Months after the shooting, Wright's wife got an anonymous letter that said Wright's mistress shot him and contained details about the crime.
Investigators have recently started re-examining the case and believe the author of the letter could be the key to solving the case.
