Another candidate has thrown their hat in the ring in the race for the U.S. Senate seat held by Lindsey Graham. Democrat Brandon Brown has announced his campaign.
Brown is a Greenville native with a background in education and some experience in politics. He served in leadership roles at Jackson State University in Mississippi and Paine College in Georgia.
He also ran for the 4th District Congressional seat in 2004. Brown is the 1st black candidate to win the Democratic nomination in the district. He lost to Bob Inglis in a landslide in the general election.
Brown joins a crowded field with 5 other democrats, two Republicans and an Independent candidate all seeking to unseat Lindsey Graham.
