An investigation is ongoing after another Upstate woman was found dead after being strangled. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says, a woman was found dead in her home there around 4 PM, Monday afternoon. The victim has been identified as 67 year old, Nancy Popham of Seneca.
Addis says, he believes she died either late Sunday night or in the early morning hours Monday. An autopsy performed Wednesday revealed Popham died from manual strangulation. It's the 2nd incident of it its kind in the Upstate, in a matter of days, after Susan Donald was found strangled to death in Greenville on Saturday. A suspect in that case, Ricky McCullough has been arrested and charged.
Popham's death has been ruled a homicide and is under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. No arrests have been announced and no suspect information has been released as of the time of this report."
