A suspect is in custody after a weekend shooting in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department responded to an apartment complex on Atkinson Street, around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound. Police rendered medical help until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators say the suspect 32 year old Elijah Paul Foster shot the victim at a bus stop.
Foster is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Police say Foster was found with a handgun during his arrest. He's being held withou t bond in Buncombe County.
