A suspect is in custody accused of setting fire to a home in the Upstate over the weekend. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Old Birch Road in Spartanburg, Saturday.
When Deputies arrived, firefighters were on the scene putting the fire out. Deputies were told by the homeowner that her nephew Timothy Bridges started the fire after an argument between the two.
Witnesses told investigators that Bridges had said the night before that he would burn the house to the ground. The Sheriff's Office says nobody was living in the home at the time of the fire. Bridges was taken into custody Saturday and he's charged with 2nd degree arson.
