An Asheville man could spend less than four years in prison after an attempted armed robbery there last fall. The Asheville Police Department says 33 year old, James Prescod was taken into custody, after a reported attempted robbery at Bartlett Arms Apartments last November.
The victim told police that Prescod pulled a gun on them, pointed it and threatened to kill them. The victim ran and called 911; officers located Prescod and found a stolen gun on him.
Prescod pleaded guilty to felony attempted armed robbery and possession of a stolen gun. He has been sentenced to a minimum of 3 years and 8 months and a maximum of 5 1/2 years.
