A new airline company is bringing two new nonstop flights connecting GSP with Orlando, FL and New Haven, Connecticut.

Avelo Airlines, a relatively new airline founded during the pandemic and focused on low-fare travel, has previously established flight routes in both Charleston and Myrtle Beach, and they are now establishing two new nonstop flights at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

“We’ve really been pleased with the results of the two markets that we fly to today, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, and so it was really a natural fit to look at the Upcountry and Greenville-Spartanburg in particular,” said Travis Christ, the Head of Marketing at Avelo Airlines. “The vibrant economy in the state of South Carolina, and Greenville-Spartanburg in particular made this a natural choice for our next destination as we took delivery of new aircraft.”

Christ said the two new flights will each run twice per week, connecting GSP with both the Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida and the Tweed-New Haven Airport in New Haven, Connecticut.

He continued that, should these flights prove successful, more destinations with GSP may be established as they continue to add more planes to their fleet over the next few years.

The two new nonstop flights will begin this summer starting in June. The Orlando flights will begin on June 7th running on Wednesdays and Saturdays before moving to Mondays and Fridays on June 23rd. The New Haven flights will begin on June 22nd running on Thursdays and Sundays.
