The Upstate law enforcement community is rallying around a deputy who is on the long road to recovery. The Pickens Police Department will hold a concert to benefit Corporal Lucas Watts and his family.
As we previously reported, Watts was on patrol for the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, November 16th when he was shot by a suspect during a traffic stop. After a hospital stay of nearly a month, Corporal Watts has been transferred to a rehab center in Georgia.
Tonight's benefit concert will feature two bluegrass bands and will be held at the Market At The Mill in Pickens. The event will run from 6 to 830 PM, donations will be accepted on site and the proceeds will go to the family of Corporal Watts.
