A Seneca man is dead after his body was found in Lake Hartwell, Monday evening. The Oconee County Coroner's Office says, the body of 50 year old, Douglas John Olin Edmond Jr. was recovered in about 35 feet of water, just after 5:30PM.
It is believed that Edmond died on December 20th. He was officially reported missing on Sunday. Coroner Karl Addis says it is believed that Edmond was trying to cross a cove in a small boat when he went into the water.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine more and The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is also investigating Edmond's death.
