The Boiling Springs Fire Department of Spartanburg has received an almost $15,000 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for the purchase of a LUCAS 3-CPR compression device.
The device is used for consistent and proper CPR on individuals suffering from cardiac arrest.
The grant was officially presented to the Boiling Springs Fire Department at an event Monday morning and is one of 96 total grants to public safety organizations across the country totaling roughly $1.8 million.

BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. – The Boiling Springs Fire Department of Spartanburg is better equipped to keep all community members safe thanks to a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The $14,944 grant will be used to purchase a LUCAS 3-CPR compression device, fulfilling a critical need within the department.
“Utilization of this device, along with quality prehospital care, will greatly improve the chances of survival of cardiac arrest in our community and surrounding areas. We sincerely thank Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their continued support in our community,” said Fire Chief Scott Miller.

The LUCAS 3-CPR compression device will be used on patients in cardiac arrest to provide consistent, uninterrupted, high quality CPR.
The grant was one of 96 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awarded to public safety organizations across the country during the most recent grant application period. The 96 grants total more than $1.8 million.
