A bomb threat was called in to the Colleton County Courthouse on Wednesday. The building was evacuated and law enforcement did a sweep of the building, before people were allowed back in.

Before and after yesterday's bomb threat interrupted day thirteen of the Alex Murdaugh trial, the attorneys dueled over more testimony from some key prosecution witnesses.
A para-legal assistant told the jury she accidentally discovered telltale evidence that Murdaugh was siphoning off money from clients and the law firm. Annette Griswold says she was looking for a file in Murdaugh's office on a supposedly unsettled case when a check slipped out of its folder and fell to the floor.
It had been written to the law firm for the amount of the settlement, but never turned in. That led to an investigation of other funds purportedly deposited by Murdaugh to a third-party company named Forge Consulting which handled financial settlements between the firm and clients.
It was found that Murdaugh had set up his own checking account, named it "Forge," and was routinely depositing money owed to the law firm in it. The real Forge Consulting firm knew nothing about it, and is also taking legal action.
The bomb threat phone call, SLED confirms, had warned that the explosive had been planted in the judge's chambers, nothing was found.
