Bond has been denied for the driver of the car that collided with a motorcycle ,Wednesday afternoon. The crash killed off-duty Anderson County Sheriff's Office Detective, Mark Garrett.
Douglas Lueck of Williamston is charged with felony DUI causing death. At Thursday's arraignment hearing he was ordered to be kept behind bars until his trial.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says his car was turning toward a driveway on Anderson Highway near Vernon Street just outside the Williamston town limits. The motorcyclist 56 year old, Mark Garret died at the scene of the collision .
He'd been a firefighter before starting his law enforcement career in 2009. Garrett had previously served at the Clemson and Williamston Police Departments, prior to going to work for the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
