A teenager and former football player at a prominent upstate program is dead after a weekend shooting at an apartment complex in Spartanburg County. The Duncan Police Department responded to a reported shooting at Culpepper Landing Apartments in Duncan, Saturday night. Upon arrival, a victim was found and was transported to an area hospital, where they later died from injuries suffered in the shooting.
The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 18 year old, Rashard Sharquavious Wright of Duncan. Wright was a recent graduate of Byrnes High School and played DB and WR for the Rebel Football program.
There's been no word from police on what led to the shooting and no arrests have been announced, as of the time of this report.
