Congresswoman and South Carolina Gubernatorial candidate Nancy Mace says the abrupt departure of her campaign consultant, who accuses her of turning her back on Donald Trump, is neither unexpected nor unwelcome.
Mace says, J Austin McCubbin's social media post acusing her of abandoning the president's princples is untrue. McCubbin served as the South Carolina State Director for Team Trump, and managed Mace's first reelection campaign in 2022.
His resignation was announced on social media with him saying "again (Mace) decided to turn her back on MAGA to hug the the Rand Paul and Thomas Massie wing of the Party."
Mace's campaign responded by saying she has stood with the president from day one.
Their response said "Mr. McCubbin didn't raise a dime for the campaign or better yet, never bothered showing up. When he demanded $10,000 a month for 'services' and was told no, he ran straight to X. Good luck with that".
