Greenville’s Cancer Survivors Park Alliance is introducing a new fundraising event to help raise funds for their efforts.
The nonprofit organization manages a nearly seven-acre park space between Falls Park and Cleveland Park that sees visits and foot traffic from local, out of state, and even some international visitors.
Completed in 2018 through a partnership with the city of Greenville, Cancer Survivors Park Alliance Executive Director Kay Roper said she is excited for the park’s newest fundraiser event, Sync for Survivors.
“We intentionally trying to put together an event that survivors will help give and entertain, and yet people in the audience will have a great experience.
But they also will hear stories of why these people are helping us.”
Roper explained that the event is a lip sync battle inspired by similar competition on tv and online. She said those competitions were fun and enjoyable and wanted to bring that joy to cancer survivors and the community.
Those interested can buy tickets to the Saturday, August 17th event, which includes food and drink, or donate to vote for a winner of the lip sync competition on the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance website.
Proceeds go towards supporting the programs regularly ran by the alliance.
