A man accused of shooting the Marine veteran who stopped to help him on I-85 in Anderson County last month is behind bars.
The victim is recovering from the wound. He told investigators he thought the gunman was a stranded motorist when he stopped near mile marker 32, the Easley-Pelzer exit, at 5:00 o'clock in the morning of October 21st.
Investigators say Jahlir D. Johnson shot him as he got out of his car then drove off in it.
Johnson was arrested in Lexington County on an unrelated charge.
He'll be returned to Anderson County to face arraignment for attempted murder, carjacking and firearms violations.
