At Thursday night’s board meeting, Cherokee County Schools voted unanimously to look into the possibility of purchasing Limestone University’s properties.
This comes as Limestone University officially announced earlier this week that its doors will be closing at the end of the academic year later this month.
Interim superintendent Dr. Thomas White is set to lead the negotiations for the potential purchase.
White expressed a need to expand the district’s facilities to meet its continued growing needs.
