Reports have surfaced that black students and residents in Clemson are receiving racist text messages. The Clemson Police Department says they are aware of the text messages and emails.
The messages referenced slavery and tells the recipient they have been selected to pick cotton at a plantation. Thus far there's no word on the origin of the messages.
Clemson Police ask that anyone receiving the messages report it by calling 864-624-2000. I have obtained a copy of one such message and it is below.
