A federal immigration operation has netted over two dozen arrests in North Georgia and one of the suspects is said to be a cartel affiliate. Federal officials say, Operation Southern Trident was launched earlier this month to uncover crime in national forests in Georgia and the Carolinas.
The Department of Homeland Security says 25 people who are in the country illegally were arrested in Stephens County, Georgia . 14 of those arrested have prior felony convictions and one is a confirmed cartel member.
