A suspect is in custody on charges of kidnapping and assault after a weekend incident at an Upstate hotel. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported disturbance at the Best Western on Pelham Road in Greenville around 11 PM Saturday night.
Upon arrival, deputies found the female victim under a car hiding, she had been injured in the attack. The suspect, identified as 44 year Garcia Wilson had fled the scene prior to deputies arriving.
A search for him ensued and on Sunday morning he was located and taken into custody. The Sheriff's Office says Wilson also had active warrants for failure to register as a sex offender. He is currently being held at the Greenville County Jail.
