A deadly weekend house fire in Western North Carolina has now turned into a murder investigation. As we previously reported, the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a house fire in Saluda, Sunday night. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
They have been identified as Robert and Wendy Peck, both were 80 years old. Officials say that autopsies were performed which led to the homicide investigation. No arrests have been announced, as of this time.
The Sheriff's Office says no arrests have been made at this time and they can't release any further details. The deadly fire remains under investigation, anyone with info is urged to contact The Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 828-722-5033.
