An investigation is ongoing after a deadly shooting in the Upstate, Friday night. Officials responded to a reported shooting in the area of McKowns Mountain Road in Gaffney.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says, a man was fatally shot while standing in the roadway around 10PM. The Coroners Office has identified the deceased as 54 year old, Tony Lee Byers. Fowler says, Byers was arguing with another man who has not been publicly identified when the shooting took place.
An autopsy is scheduled to help determine more details. The shooting remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
