A deputy is injured and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in the Upstate. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a domestic call led to a suspect firing shots and fleeing the scene.
Just before 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, deputies responded to a home in the Oak Forest Subdivision. Lt. Kevin Bobo says a deputy was shot when he approached the home and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Neighbors then gave description of the suspect and his vehicle.

The vehicle was then spotted on Anderson Mill Road heading towards Highway 290. Another deputy attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle and fired at that deputy, who then returned fire. The suspect continued driving on Anderson Mill Road, then wrecked near the Highway 290 intersection and ran into the woods.
A perimeter was set up, the SWAT team and K-9 units were called in, they went into the woods and apprehended the suspect. The Sheriff's Office says one deputy was injured, all others involved were unharmed. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.
There's been no update on the condition of the injured deputy or the suspect. The identity of the suspect has not been released and SLED has been called in to investigate, which is standard protocol in officer involved shootings.
