While he hasn't officially announced a run for President, many believe Florida Governor Ron Desantis will throw his hat in the ring, next month. Desantis was in the Upstate Wednesday night to speak to a large and receptive crowd at First Baptist North Spartanburg as part of his Florida Blueprint Tour.
Desantis touted Florida's educational and economic accomplishments during his tenure. He also spoke on Florida's handling of the covid pandemic, calling his state's action "standing as a refuge of sanity".
Wednesday marked the Florida Governor's 1st trip to South Carolina. He visited with groups in the Low Country earlier in the day, before making his way to Spartanburg. State Senator Josh Kimbrell who represents the "Sparkle City" organized the event and spoke prior to Desantis taking the stage.
