DEU Commander Bart McEntire announces the arrest of Rael Rashad Patterson (DOB: 10/24/1973) for Trafficking in Cocaine Over 400 grams and Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
On Tuesday May 4, 2021, a Greenville County resident was arrested and identified as a suspected drug supplier in Greenville County. Investigators learned of an alleged substantial shipment of cocaine arriving in Greenville and reportedly received by Patterson.
Through surveillance and developing the intelligence received, the investigation led to search warrants being obtained for a residence on Lowndes Hill Road in Greenville, S.C., and a business located on White Horse Road in Greenville.
As a result, Investigators seized more than 2 pound of cocaine, a Ruger semi-automatic pistol, and U.S. currency.
Commander McEntire states, “The amount of cocaine found is significant for this area. In fact, the seizure by DEU has the potential to have prevented approximately 50,000 uses of the drugs by drug users which now will not occur. Additionally, Cocaine sells in our area for around $80-100 a gram at a user level making GREENVILLE COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT (DEU) Press Releasethe street value of the seizure approximately $100,000.
