DNA testing has been used to identify the victim in a Pickens County house fire, a few months ago. As we previously reported, firefighters responded to a home on Red Hawk Road, in late December. Firefighters arrived and found a woman dead inside the home. Officials say a brush fire had spread to the home.
The Pickens County Coroner's Office said Saturday that DNA testing had been used to identify the deceased as 72 year old, Mary Jo Morgan. No further details have been released regarding her death. The fire remains under investigation by the Coroner's Office, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office and SLED.
