
Greenville SC - The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports one person has died following a collision with a garbage truck in Greenville County.
Trooper Joe Hovis said the collision occurred Tuesday morning just before 10AM as a 2018 International sanitation truck was slowing in traffic on White Horse Road a couple of miles west of Greenville, when the driver of a 2009 Nissan pickup rear ended the sanitation truck.
The driver of the Nissan, 87 year old Asberry Carlton of Greenville was taken by EMS to Prisma Health in Greenville, where he died of his injuries just before noon Wednesday.
Carlton was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the sanitation truck was not injured.
