A weekend traffic stop in Cherokee County resulted in an arrest and the seizure of drugs and a gun. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office executed a traffic stop on Friday and when the vehicle came to a stop a suspect bailed out on foot.
The suspect, identified as Roger Wayne Stockton exited from the backseat and ran into the woods. Stockton was apprehended and a pouch was found near him.
The pouch contained two ounces of meth, over 21 grams of cocaine, nearly 6 grams of fentanyl and a loaded gun.
Stockton is charged with trafficking fentanyl and meth, felony cocaine possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.
