A Fair Play man arrested Tuesday afternoon on attempted murder and weapon charges.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 41-year-old Timothy Chad Merck on charges connected to the early morning stabbing in Durham Road from early this month.
The victim was transported to the hospital, but Merck had already left the scene before authorities arrived.
The victim survived, and Merck was later arrested following an investigation, with the aid of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Walhalla Police Department, on charges of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
He is currently being held on a $110,000 combined surety bond.
